State Representative Richard LeBlanc was first elected in 2006 to represent the 18th District, which encompasses the City of Westland. Rep. LeBlanc has been a Westland resident for 49 years.
Rep. LeBlanc served as a City Council member in Westland from 1995 to 2001 and from 2003 to 2006. He also served as an officer and trustee for Wayne/Westland Community Schools, Board of Education from 1992 to 1995.
Rep. LeBlanc volunteers his time to many organizations such as the Westland Goodfellows and the Westland Civitans. He also is a member of various groups such as the the Westland Historical Society, the Westland Democratic Club, the NAACP and the Westland Cultural Society.
As a State Representative, LeBlanc will work to diversify and strengthen the state's economy, create jobs and fight to make health care and prescription drug coverage more affordable. LeBlanc also will support consumer protection efforts and enhancements involving public safety.
Representative LeBlanc is married to his wife Cheryl and they have two adult sons, Rick and Jeff.
