WESTLAND – State Representative Richard LeBlanc (D-Westland) invites residents to attend his first annual "Noodles and Neighbors" spaghetti dinner for charity on Friday, Oct. 3, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the WestlandFriendshipCenter, 1119 Newburgh Road, Westland.
"I can't think of a better way to spend an evening than to gather with friends and lend a helping hand to those who have given us so much," said LeBlanc, Chair of the State House Military and Veterans Affairs Committee. "The men and women who fight for our country put their lives on the line to protect us and the least we can do is help give them a better life. I encourage the community to come to the spaghetti dinner, spend an evening with their neighbors and truly make a difference in our veterans' lives."
In addition to a spaghetti dinner with friends and neighbors served by local celebrities, the event will feature both a live and silent auction as well as door prizes.
All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans and the D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans in Marquette. Tickets are $5 each or $15 per family and are available in advance or at the door.
"The men and women who fought to keep our country free deserve every opportunity in life," Leblanc said. "This event provides our residents an opportunity to show their gratitude and help our veterans with expenses that can quickly become a financial hardship. We must remember to continue to support our brave veterans who have sacrificed so much for all of us and our country."
