LANSING – State Representative Richard LeBlanc (D-Westland) today was named Chair of the House Appropriations State Police sub-committee for the 94th Legislature, which is making job creation, reducing the cost of health care and expanding educational opportunities its top priorities.
"Our State Police are charged with ensuring the safety and security of our residents, and I am proud to head up the State Police sub-committee," said LeBlanc, who has served as a reserve police officer for the Canton Police Department for more than 18 years. "I have nothing but the utmost respect for the brave men and women who put their lives on the line every day, and I will fight to ensure that our State Police troopers get the support and funding that they need to do their jobs."
LeBlanc also will sit on the Appropriations subcommittees of Corrections and of Economic Development.
